Foundation - Door-to-Door Fundraising Programs


Our Door-to-Door Fundraising program is a vital part of the Foundation’s efforts to support Mackenzie Health and the Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital this year. Through this program, we’re reaching out to you and your neighbours to find people to join Mackenzie Health Foundation’s Partners in Care Monthly Giving Program. Caring Partners support the areas of greatest need at Mackenzie Health, making it possible for us to provide the best possible care for patients close to home.


Mackenzie Health Foundation has partnered with the company Appco Group to find new Partners. Appco Group canvassers receive comprehensive training about the mission and work of Mackenzie Health so that they can speak to you on our behalf. These canvassers are not on commission. They receive an hourly wage for the time they spend fundraising on behalf of Mackenzie Health Foundation.

Q: Why fundraise door-to-door?

A: Door-to-door fundraising is one of the most effective and personal ways we can reach out to donors.


Q: Are Mackenzie Health Foundationfundraisers volunteers?

A: Mackenzie Health Foundation canvassers are compensated with an hourly wage and do not receive commissions. Fundraisers are paid through Appco Group. Q: Why can’t I make a cash donation?

A: For safety reasons, we do not allow our canvassers to accept or carry cash donations. If you are interested in making a donation, please do so using our online donation form or contact the Foundation at 905.883.1212 Ext 7819.


Q. How do I know my donation is going to Mackenzie Health?

A: You will know your donation is going to Mackenzie Health because:

  • You’ll receive an email notification within minutes of agreeing to make your donation.
  • Within a few days, you will receive a telephone call from Mackenzie Health Foundation to confirm your intention to make a monthly donation.

Q. What if I want to cancelmy monthly donation?

A: You may cancel your monthly donation at any time. You may also change the amount of your donation, or the day of the month your donation is processed by calling Mackenzie Health Foundation at 905.883.1212 Ext 7819.
