Did you know that the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care provides most of the funding that the hospital needs to cover operating expenses such as salaries, heat and hydro, and did you also know, however, the purchase of new equipment is not funded by the government, it is dependent on the generous support of our community?
Mackenzie Health Foundation raises funds for the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment and technology so the hospital’s dedicated professionals have the necessary tools to deliver exceptional care close to home.
Your gift toward any of the current capital funding priorities listed below will make a world of difference.
Upgrades of New Equipment for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Suite - MI general, urology and gynecology surgeons each use as many as 130 instruments per surgery to treat everything from prostate to bladder cancer, repair a hernia or remove kidney stones. Assuring these specialized tools are available when and where they are needed is a critical priority of Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital, matched only by our unwavering commitment to provincial infection control standards.
Hemodialysis Machines and Equipment for the Chronic Kidney Disease Program - Patients with Renal Failure must undergo life-sustaining dialysis therapy three times a week at one of six sites of the York Region Chronic Kidney Disease Program managed by Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital. Replacement Hemodialysis Machines with new technology are required to allow these patients to receive effective and superior treatment.
