The process to be considered for a Volunteer placement is:

  1. Complete the Application Form, provide  2 References  from people other than family members or friends and a 250 Word Description as to why you’d like to volunteer. You may wish to include a current resume.
  2. Once you have completed your application, please mail to our offices or email a scanned copy to volunteers@mackenziehealth.ca.  After your application has been reviewed, you may be contacted to arrange an interview. At the interview we will determine if there is a position available that benefits both you and the hospital.
  3. Successful candidates must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Screening through York Regional Police at a cost of $20. You must also attend a 2-hour orientation, agree to a health screening exam and leave a $30 refundable deposit for a uniform, photo ID badge and parking pass.
