Mackenzie Health, in collaboration with York Region Public Health, declared a COVID-19 outbreak on C4 Surgery Aqua at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital on April 1, 2021 and on C3 Medicine Aqua on April 9, 2021.
Precautions are being taken to reduce further transmission among patients and staff, including:
- Closing the units to visitors;
- Ensuring the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper hand hygiene and physical distancing protocols are followed;
- Continuing to conduct enhanced cleaning, especially for high-touch and high-use areas including common areas and shared spaces.
