Two upcoming opportunities for residents to provide their input and help shape the future of health care at Mackenzie Health
Richmond Hill, ON (Nov. 8, 2021) — In the coming weeks there are two important opportunities for residents of Vaughan, King and Richmond Hill to have input and a two-way dialogue with Mackenzie Health to help shape the organization’s priorities and strategic direction: a live telephone town hall and an online survey.
As Mackenzie Health begins to develop its first strategic plan as a two-hospital organization, it is looking to residents across western York Region to identify what is important to them and how Mackenzie Health can better serve their needs.
The strategic plan will be rolled out in early 2022 and will set out Mackenzie Health’s focus, efforts and resources reflecting the needs of the patients and communities it serves over the years to come.
Residents are encouraged to provide their feedback and complete a short, online survey by December 8. Input from the community will be used to inform the path forward towards improving care to create healthier communities.
“With our second hospital now open, Mackenzie Health is at a pivotal moment in its history,” said Altaf Stationwala, Mackenzie Health President and CEO. “We have a unique opportunity to set the course for the next step in our organization’s journey and it is so important that we listen to our community so we can continue to serve their health care needs in the best way that we can.”
Members of the community will also have an opportunity to provide their feedback and engage directly with Mackenzie Health leadership during the organization’s annual live telephone town hall.
At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, residents across western York Region will receive a phone call to join a two-way conversation about what matters most to them. The telephone town hall will be hosted by Mackenzie Health President and CEO, Altaf Stationwala; Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Executive, Mary-Agnes Wilson; and Vice President of Medical Planning and Chief of Staff, Dr. Steven Jackson.
The community will hear updates about hospital operations and future plans to enhance and expand the programs and services the organization provides to western York Region.
At the time of the telephone town hall, residents in Vaughan, King and Richmond Hill will automatically receive a phone call on their residential line. To be sure residents receive a phone call at their preferred contact number, they are encouraged to complete the online form at mackenziehealth.ca/townhall.
