Earlier today it was announced that the Minister of Health has appointed Mackenzie Health’s President and CEO, Altaf Stationwala, as a supervisor for Renfrew Victoria Hospital. The government will at times appoint a supervisor when it is in the public interest to do so, to help address hospital issues. Altaf’s role as supervisor will begin July 8.
Maintaining continuity across Mackenzie Health’s two hospitals and community-based locations during this time is a priority. During the temporary appointment, Altaf will continue as President and CEO of Mackenzie Health. He will delegate authority and duties as required to members of our highly skilled and experienced Executive Leadership Team to ensure we sustain the high-quality care and experience our community expects from us. Operations and strategic priorities at Mackenzie Health will not be interrupted or impacted as a result of this appointment.
Mackenzie Health, the Board of Directors and Altaf are committed to assisting the system in this way and appreciate the Ministry’s utmost confidence in Altaf to provide this support.
