York Region Public Health is investigating a confirmed case of measles and is reaching out to all known contacts who may have been exposed at four locations including:

  • Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital Emergency Department waiting room and ambulatory care areas – 3200 Major Mackenzie Drive West, Vaughan on Monday, May 12 from approximately 6:45 a.m. to 1:37 p.m.

If you’re concerned that you may have been exposed, please contact York Region Public Health on their Access York line at 1-877-464-9675 ext. 77280 or visit york.ca/MeaslesReporting to complete a brief contact follow-up survey. If you were exposed at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, you may be eligible for a post-exposure vaccine clinic. If this applies to you, you will be contacted directly by York Region Public Health.  

The best protection against measles is vaccination. York Region Public Health offers community immunization clinics for school-aged children to catch up on missed immunizations, including for measles. To book an appointment, visit the York Region Public Health community immunization webpage.
