OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO.
Exceptional care starts with exceptional people.
We see that truth in action every single day thanks to our remarkable volunteers. Under the leadership of Volunteer and Community Resources and the Mackenzie Health Volunteer Association, this tireless group of people comes together from every corner of our community and is united by a single goal: making Mackenzie Health better in every way.
Here’s just a snapshot of how our volunteers support the work we do, both in-hospital and behind the scenes:
- Welcoming and directing all who walk through our doors
- Assisting patients and families through difficult times
- Supporting our staff whenever they can
- Sharing their skills and knowledge on our many committees
- Raising much-needed funds for new equipment
- Representing us at dozens of community events
No matter the need, our volunteers are always there to meet it. That’s why, as we grow from one hospital to two in late 2020, we know we’ll be able to count on their ongoing and invaluable support. The new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital, while driven by the very latest technology, will always have these exceptional people at its heart. And Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital will continue to rely on the strength of volunteers to help deliver the ultimate experience for our patients and their families.
Thank you to everyone who lent us their time and talents last year. We are profoundly grateful for everything you do.
OUR VOLUNTEERS NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE US.
Consider these two stats and you’ll see why:
pledged to Mackenzie Health Foundation over 4 years
Mackenzie Health Volunteer Association commitment in support of mental health.
After meeting a recent pledge to raise funds for the purchase of 10 new fetal monitors 12 months ahead of schedule, the Mackenzie Health Volunteer Association got right back to work, announcing a bold new commitment in support of mental health services. Their $500,000 pledge will support the Day Hospital Medication Group Counselling Room and an Activity Room/Gymnasium in the Mental Health Inpatient Unit at the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital. Thank you to the entire Mackenzie Health Volunteer Association team for their exceptional efforts on behalf of our community.
