President - Jill Walker |
Jill came to Toronto from Scotland in 1980. She has had four careers. The first was Haematology in a large teaching hospital in Scotland. Next was Banking in Toronto. That was followed by Club Manager for 22 years of country club in GTA. Duties there included accounting, HR, Health & Safety, Building Management, Systems, Weddings/Golf Tournaments; lastly G.M. of a small retirement home in Newmarket where duties also included accounting. She still has a home office for bookkeeping.
Jill volunteers at Mackenzie Health and Humanity First. She loves animals and recently volunteered at a cat rescue & adoption group. Her favourite hobby is music - singing opera and oratorio. She is widowed and has two grown up children who both live in downtown Toronto.

1st Vice President - Gwen Johnstone |
Gwen Johnstone has recently retired from 32 years of teaching for the Toronto District School Board. In this role, Gwen had the opportunity to be involved in many leadership responsibilities including a TDSB Literacy Leader and Instructional Leader for York University. Gwen presently volunteers at Mackenzie Health with weekly shifts in the HELP Program, and visits schools as a workshop leader in the Hands Up For Health Program. She presently sits on the Mackenzie Health Volunteer Association Board, as the newly appointed Vice-President of the MHVA. She is also beginning her second term as a Board Member for the Richmond Hill Public Library, where she was recently appointed as Vice-Chair. Gwen is very interested in supporting a healthy environment, and is a member of the Richmond Hill Blue Dot Organization. |
Immediate Past President - Sally David |
Sally is a former director with the Mackenzie Health Foundation, and served as a member of the Quality, Safety and Risk Committee. She is also a committee member on the Volunteers Design Development Team for the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. Sally's volunteering experience includes over 20 years at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital in the Emergency Department and two years in Palliative Care. She participates in numerous annual fundraising events. She has received a Certificate of appreciation from the Government of Canada for outstanding services and contributions as a volunteer, a Service award from the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, an Outstanding Departmental Volunteer award and an Ontario “Leading Women, Building Communities Award”, in Richmond Hill . She is married and has two adult children and two grandchildren. She is an avid gardener always participating in the town's annual floral event. |
Secretary - Ray Ang |
Raymond Ang has worked on the design, development, and implementation of many technology products in the health care and social service areas since he was a student. He also works on process changes to increase the effectiveness and capacities of teams. The combination of building the right products and changing work methodologies has allowed many of his teams to achieve continuous excellent results and receive various awards. Raymond enjoys reaction videos, grappling, and comedy. He previously volunteered at Mackenzie Health as a Director at Large and at the Information Desk. |
Treasurer - Fred Visco |
Fred Visco joined the Mackenzie Health Volunteer Association in 2015 and has many years of experience in finance and accounting. Fred is currently employed at Eaton Industries (Canada) Company, as a Financial Controller. He is a York University graduate with a Bachelor of Administrative Studies and has attained professional accreditation of CPA. Fred enjoys leveraging his knowledge and expertise to the benefit of the Mackenzie Health Volunteer Association as Treasurer and has the privilege in giving back to his community. Residing in Richmond Hill raising his family, Fred has been happily married for 32 years to Mary Curtis Visco, and has two daughters, Elise and Paula.

Gift Shop Chair - Pierina Bosco |
Pierina Bosco began her journey at Mackenzie Health Hospital in 2005, where she took on many different volunteer roles, including the White Rose Gift Shop. In 2012, Pierina joined the Board of Directors, initially serving as a co-chair on the Membership Committee. In this role, she attended various events throughout Vaughan and Richmond Hill as a brand ambassador for the hospital, and prepared Welcome Packages for incoming volunteers. In 2016, Pierina became Chair of the White Rose Gift Shop, and joined the Executive Committee of the Volunteer Association Board. She works closely with the Gift Shop Manager, pays the bills for the gift shop and acts as a liaison between the Gift Shop volunteers and the Board. In addition to her leadership roles on the Volunteer Association Board, Pierina continues to be a part of many other committees such as the "Hands Up For Health" program, leading the Italian table at the International Food Fair, attending fundraising events, helping out during "Epic" in the registration room, and as a volunteer for the White Rose Gift Shop every Tuesday. Pierina has been living in Vaughan for the past thirty-five years and enjoys reading, cooking, old movies and travelling. |
Honourary Past President - Nancy Cutler |
Nancy Cutler retired in 2003 after a distinguished 35 year career in the Federal Public Service, during this time she worked across Canada as a forecaster, instructor, regional director, national programs DG and finally as a senior policy DG for Environment Canada. Nancy was presented with the Patterson Medal (the highest award for meteorology in Canada) in 1997 and on retirement, an award for women in science and technology was created in her name. After retirement, Nancy moved into volunteer work. In 2004, Nancy joined the Volunteer Association of (then) York Central Hospital as Chair of Fundraising. In 2010 she became its VP and then in 2011 the President for 2 years. As such she oversaw not only the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Association but also it's name change as York Central became Mackenzie Health. For the past 2 years she has been the Honorary President for the Association. Other volunteer activities included but are not limited to politics, senior advisory committees for agencies of the provincial & federal governments, Advisory Board of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Mount Allison University and the Richmond Hill Curling Club. Other interests include golf, gardening, cooking, poetry and genealogy. |
