Mackenzie Health is pleased to offer Spiritual Care Services to help patients and their families discover a sense of hope and peace through the sacred in their lives; either through the rites and rituals of their faith traditions or through those principles and life experiences that give meaning and purpose to them. Our Multi-faith Chaplains are available to assist you during your stay at Mackenzie Health. They are able to contact the clergy and representatives of the various Faith communities in the Greater Toronto Area to visit with you. We also have a dedicated Roman Catholic Priest, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam available upon request. If you wish to receive visits from members of your faith community, please ask your nurse to update your electronic medical record to indicate your faith.
A Multi-faith Chaplain is available each week day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Our Rabbi is available Monday to Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. You may contact any of them by asking your nurse or your social worker to call or you may contact the Chaplain at ext. 7562 or the Rabbi at ext. 7871 and leave a message.
After hours your nurse can page the on-call multi-faith chaplain, the On-call Rabbi or the On-call Catholic Priest who will come to confer the Sacrament of the Sick and/or the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession).
