A transformational $1-million gift from the Longo family is bringing true patient-centered care closer to home.  

The Longo’s Family Charitable Foundation Antenatal Postpartum Unit is at the heart of a whole new health care paradigm for women, children and their families. In support of empowering seamless, compassionate care, this gift is making it possible for women to labour, deliver, recover and receive postpartum care all in the same room. 

Even in difficult times, the Longo family answered the call to support frontline staff and patients in need. 

In the early days of the pandemic, a $20,000 gift triggered a wave of generosity from our community, making it possible to establish the COVID-19 Response Fund, allowing Mackenzie Health to invest in vital equipment, including ventilators, ultrasound machines, personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies.   

Another $50,000 matching gift created double the impact and was the foundation of the Recovery Resilience Fund in support of frontline staff.
