Giving back is at the heart of Dr. Bishinsky’s work

He joined Mackenzie Health in 2004 as a consultant in the Division of Cardiology. Today, 17 years later, his passion for cardiology and internal medicine continues to be woven into the exceptional care he provides to patients at Mackenzie Health and his clinic in Aurora.

On a day-to-day basis, Dr. Bishinsky enjoys the challenges and complexities of his work, as well as the gratifying results that can come from resolving difficult patient scenarios.

As heart disease continues to be a leading cause of hospitalization and death in Canada, the need to provide access to enhanced cardiology care has never been greater. That’s why Dr. Bishinsky has made numerous donations over the last 15 years, including a legacy gift to support Mackenzie Health and the community he calls home.

Mackenzie Health’s legacy gifts (a gift in one’s Will) will help fund essential equipment and technology to support the ultimate in care — things like Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), ventilators, ultrasound machines and so much more. Dr. Bishinsky’s gift will help Mackenzie Health bring advanced cardiac care right here, close to home for our diverse and growing community.

“The generosity of the community has played a big role in the work we do at Mackenzie Health. It enables us to provide a higher level of cardiology care and access to resources patients need right in their backyard,” says Dr. Bishinsky. “It’s important for me to do my part in giving back to my local hospital and helping the future of Mackenzie Health — the place that nurtured and supported me.” Dr. Bishinsky hopes that he can inspire physicians, staff and the community to get involved and do their part — big or small — in making a difference.
