Physicians

Our team works together in every department to ensure that while in our care and while providing care, people come first.

Across the hospitals, our physicians are busy using their experience and dedication in their specialty to provide the world-class care we are known for. Being a physician at Mackenzie Health is a critical role that requires teamwork, mutual respect and communication.

Communication between physicians and other health care professionals is vital when providing world-class care. Our adoption of the Epic Electronic Medical Record system allows our teams to seamlessly keep up to date on key patient information and its implementation is award-winning. Ultimately, as a physician, this allows you to practice in a smart, dynamic environment, so you can have the career that challenges you and gives you the opportunity to excel.

You will also notice as we continue through the halls of Mackenzie Health, the number of medical students learning and engaging with our expert staff. As the landscape of health care is changing, we want to ensure that the physicians of the future are prepared for the challenges ahead and have the opportunity to develop their skills. With a formal partnership with the University of Toronto and McMaster University, we welcome 100 medical students a year and provide them with hands-on training in numerous specialties and teach them the benefits of practicing with respect. When it’s their turn to provide care, they will be ready for anything.

Practicing with respect

To keep Mackenzie Health as one of the top hospitals in Canada, teamwork is essential. We can't do great work if everyone is on a different team.

Take the Surgery Department. While it may seem like the domain of the medical staff, one of our custodial staff, Janelle, shared an important story with us the other day. Janelle has always taken pride in the work she does cleaning up the operating room after surgeries. On that particular day, one of our doctors stopped to chat with her. Our doctor thanked Janelle for her hard work and mentioned that the custodian’s stellar and efficient work cleaning the operating room had helped him schedule more surgeries. All thanks to Janelle's work, they were able to provide important surgeries to a few more patients, getting them better faster.

As the circumstances allow, we can show you around the new hospital and its fully integrated smart technology, incredible opportunities and specialized clinics. It's just another reason to join our team.

As each department has their own specialty and requirements, employment opportunities are only available on an as-needed basis. So, keep an eye on our careers site for available opportunities.
