Rehabilitation

Orthopedic, Stroke and Other Generalized Rehabilitation

Our Orthopedic, Stroke and Other Generalized Rehabilitation provides evidence-based care to individuals recovering from orthopedic surgery, stroke or who experience other disabilities or impairments. We provide best practice interprofessional rehabilitation, tailored to each patient's needs and functional goals.

We have orthopedic rehabilitation beds that provide a time limited coordinated, interprofessional rehabilitation plan of care ranging from low to high intensity. This includes medical, nursing and allied health professionals.

Rehabilitation is focused on enabling individuals with impairments and disabilities to reach and maintain their optimal physical, sensory and social functional levels.

The focus is an integrated approach to treatment of patients with diagnosis of stroke. Patients move through the continuum of care based on their need for each service: acute care, rehabilitation, complex care.

The team provides best practice care to stroke patients throughout the continuum of care.

For more information on our stroke care services, please see our District Stroke Centre page.

The rehab team provides individualized treatment plans for patients with other diagnoses/conditions to maximize their independence.
