Orthopedic, Stroke and Other Generalized Rehabilitation
Our High Intensity Rehabilitation and Stroke Rehabilitation provides evidence-based care to individuals recovering from surgery, stroke or who experience other disabilities or impairments. We provide best-practice interprofessional rehabilitation, tailored to each patient's needs and functional goals.
Located at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital, we provide a non-stroke, high intensity rehabilitation program that provides a time limited, coordinated, interprofessional rehabilitation plan of care designed to maximize an individual's independence as they recover from an orthopedic or medical condition. The care team includes medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
Rehabilitation is focused on enabling individuals to optimize their functional independence prior to returning home. For more information on our high intensity rehabilitation services, please see our brochure.
We provide specialized, goal-oriented and personalized rehabilitation, based on the patient needs, improving the lives of adults recovering from injury or illness. Active participation is critical.
We provide goal-oriented individual therapy sessions, 45-60 mins per day, five to seven times per week that focus on improving mobility and activities of daily living to help patients return home and reintegrate into their lives. Group classes may also be offered.
Located at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, the focus is an integrated approach to treatment of patients with diagnosis of stroke. Patients move through the continuum of care based on their need for each service: acute care and high intensity stroke rehabilitation.
The team provides best practice care to stroke patients throughout the continuum of care.
