Monday, June 6 marked one year since Mackenzie Health made history when we opened Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and became a two-hospital organization.
Years of community generosity from more than 15,000 donors was topped off by a $30-million commitment from HBNG Holborn Group, an independent investment and real estate management firm based in Vaughan. The company, led by partners John A. D’Angelo, Giuseppe Maio, and Claudio Memme, has been a long-time supporter of Mackenzie Health in addition to other philanthropic contributions.
Mitchell Goldhar is championing exceptional health care in our community with a visionary $10-million gift. The state-of-the-art surgery unit at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital has been named the Mitchell Goldhar Surgery Unit in his honour.
QuadReal Property Group and Menkes Developments Ltd. (Assembly Park) address a critical care need with their generous $1 million donation to Mackenzie Health’s Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault (DASA) Unit.
CFL legend David Braley has made a $15-million gift to Mackenzie Health. In honour of this gift and his memory, the east tower of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital has been named the David Braley Tower.
