Stories from the Field – Public Health Nursing in Ontario: Frontline in a Pandemic (U of T Podcast)

This event has expired.
December 20, 2021 @ 12:00 AM

Stories from the Field is a brand new podcast featuring real stories, candid conversations, and snapshots of practicing nursing in Ontario.

Co-hosts Susan Blue and Maureen Cava, retired public health nurses, provide listeners with an entertaining and educating perspective on what exactly public health nurses do.

The COVID pandemic has been an unprecedented time for public health, and nurses stepped up with passion and commitment in a big way. In this podcast (Episode 3), Karly McGibbon, a public health nurse who has worked in the Sudbury area for 17 years, describes how nurses facilitated contact tracing, set up large scale vaccination clinics, and provided vaccines to people of all ages, in multiple settings. The stories you’ll hear offer a glimpse into what public health nurses in Ontario faced during COVID, and how they embraced the challenge.
